The area is part of the traditional region of Lower Carniola and is now included in the Southeast Slovenia Statistical Region.〔(Črnomelj municipal site )〕 ==History== During the Second World War, a Partisan blacksmith's workshop operated in Golek, as well as a signal team for Allied aircraft supplying Partisan forces.
